Aaron & Danae Amstutz

Aaron and Danae live in Greencastle on their farmette with their two son and one daughter plus a dog, a cat, a long horn cow, and a flock of goats. Aaron is a veterinarian and Danae is a school counselor. Aaron is originally from Kidron, Ohio, but grew up in Bedford, Virginia. Aaron and Danae met at Eastern Mennonite University and have been married for 20+ years. In 2007, they moved to Greencastle after Aaron had an externship at a local veterinary hospital. They knew several people who attended Mercersburg Mennonite Church and decided to visit.

“It felt like a good fit and we started attending in September of 2007. We really believe in church commitment and have done our best to use our gifts to benefit the congregation.”

Aaron is passionate about discipleship and education.

“I believe our relationship with God is made possible by pursuing Him. We are transformed by the renewing of our minds. To me this means how we think matters and what we put into our minds directly impacts what comes out. Bible study and discussion are essential for me.”

Aaron is also passionate about and has a love for adoption. Physical adoption carries such a huge similarity to our adoption as God’s children. God calls us to care for the widows and orphans, and adoption is a direct way to be involved in that. A few of Aaron’s hobbies are to watch sports and spend time hunting or fishing with his two sons.

Danae has a passion for people and hearing their stories. She enjoys sharing life through community and walking together to pursue Christ. She also loves to cook, share food, and fellowship together as well as crafting and flower gardening.
